Input sought on Lavista Road turn lanes

The Georgia Department of Transportation is hosting a public information open house Wednesday for residents interested in learning about a proposed plan to add left turn lanes on Lavista Road to Biltmore Drive.

The proposed project also includes upgrading the signals to be more pedestrian friendly and constructing sidewalks that are accessible to persons with disabilities.

The gathering will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Intown Community Church at 2059 Lavista Road in Atlanta. Georgia DOT staff and engineers will be on hand to answer questions.

Freshly painted crosswalks and ramps to make access easier for the disabled or those with strollers were among the pedestrian improvements made at the intersection of LaVista and Cheshire Bridge roads. John Becker
