Weather pending, the weekend will (again) be full of lane closures

June 4, 2012 - Dunwoody - Drivers had to navigate an array of cones and signs. Dunwoody police and observers were on hand to guide traffic, which moved smoothly through the new interchange. Georgia's first "diverging diamond" interchange was open for commute traffic Monday morning at I-285 and Ashford-Dunwoody Road. Cobb County

  • The Express Lanes Project will require a traffic shift at the I-285 westbound interchange to I-75 northbound from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Saturday;
  • Two lanes will close at the I-285 eastbound interchange to I-75 from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Saturday;
  • Alternating lanes will close on the I-285 westbound collector-distributer lanes to I-75 southbound from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Saturday;
  • On I-75, two southbound lanes will close at Barrett Parkway from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Saturday;
  • On I-75, two northbound lanes will close between Windy Hill Road and Delk Road and two southbound lanes will close between Ga. Highway 120 Loop/South Marietta Parkway and Ga. Highway 280/Delk Road from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Saturday;
  • On I-75, one northbound and one southbound one lane will close under the Canton Road Connector from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Saturday;
  • On I-75 southbound, one lane will close on the on-ramp to the Canton Road Connector exit and at the SR 280/ Delk Road exit from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday;
  • One right lane will close on Frey Road from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday;
  • A flagging operation will take place on Bells Ferry Road under I-75 from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday;
  • Sign structure work will require one northbound and one southbound lane closure between Ga. 120 Loop/ South Marietta Parkway and Ga. 120 Loop/North Marietta Parkway from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday.

DeKalb County

  • Sign structure work will also require two westbound and one eastbound lane closures on I-285 at Bouldercrest Road from 9 p.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday;
  • Sign structure work on I-285 will require two westbound lane closures between Ga. Highway 139/Riverdale Road and the I-85 interchange from 12 p.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday;
  • Sign structure work on I-285 will require one westbound lane closure at Ga. Highway 54/Jonesboro Road from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. Saturday.

Fulton County

  • On I-20, two eastbound lanes will close between Ga. 139/ Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard from 10 p.m. Friday until 7 p.m. Sunday;
  • One lane will close on Ga. 237/Piedmont Road at Habersham Road from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday;
  • On I-20, one eastbound lane and the shoulder will close between Ga. 70/Fulton Industrial Boulevard and the I-285 interchange from 9 p.m. Friday until 7 p.m. Sunday;
  • The I-20 westbound ramp to Capitol Avenue will be closed for the 5th Annual “Hot Chocolate Atlanta 15K/5K” from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. Sunday;
  • Work on the South Metro Express Lanes will require one northbound lane and shoulder closure on I-675 at Ga. 138/ Stockbridge Road continuously from 7 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday;
  • On I-20, one eastbound lane and the shoulder will close between Ga. 70/Fulton Industrial Boulevard and the I-285 interchange from 9 p.m. Friday until 7 p.m. Sunday.
